About Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY)
Chief minister of Gujarat Mr Vijay Rupani has came up with a scheme called Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY) 2020 to help people to tackle challenges that arose due to COVID-19 lockdown. Under this scheme Rs 1 lakh guarantee free loan at 2% rate of intrest will be provided to beneficiaries. The government has decided Rs 5,000 crore budget to implement this scheme. The government of Gujarat will pay 6% interest to banks who are going to give loan under Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY) 2020 which is targeted at small business man, skilled workers, auto rickshaw owners, electricians, Babesr etc.

- The main objective of AGSY as launched by government of Gujarat is to provide guarantee free loan of Rs 100000 at 2% rate of interest so that small businessman can tackle the challenges that have arisen due to lock down.
Benefits of Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY)
The benefits of Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY) 2022 is listed below:-
- This scheme will benefit small time businessman including grocery shop owners, vegetable vendors, auto rickshaw drivers, barbers etc
- Rs 1 lakh guarantee free loan will be provided to small businessman under this scheme
- Only 2% interest will be paid by the beneficiary to the bank and the rest 6% will be borne by government of Gujarat
- Over 1 million lockdown hit small traders, hawkers, skilled workers and people falling under the lower middle income group will get benefit from the scheme

- Rs 5,000 crore is sanction for this project by the government

Eligibility Criteria Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY)
The following eligibility criteria has been decided by the Government of Gujarat for AGSY 2020:-
- The applicant should be a permanent resident of State of Gujarat
- Applicant must be a small business man like a shop owner, grocery seller, electrician etc
- The applicant should belong to below poverty line category

The beneficiaries of Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY) 2020 is listed below:-

Implementation of Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY)
- Under the scheme Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana (AGSY) 2020 Rs 1 lakh loan will be given to 10 lakh beneficiaries at 2% rate of interest. This loan will be provided without any kind of guarantee. The beneficiaries are only required to submit the application form along with all the required documents. The remaining 6% rate of interest will be paid to banks by the government of Gujarat. The tenure of this loan will be three years and repayment of principal amount and interest will start after 6 months of the sanction of loan amount. The state government have discussed about this scheme to the banks and after the discussion have taken decision to launch this scheme.
