Kisan Suryodaya Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th October 2020 Saturday has launched a yojana called Kisan Suryodaya Yojana through Video Conferencing. The Yojana has been started for the farmers of the Gujarat state. Under this yojana, farmers of the state will be provided a Three Phase power supply from 5 AM to 9 PM that will help in the irrigation purpose of the farmers. Earlier the power supply was provided in the night hours which cause severe losses to the farmers of the state. So keeping that in mind the Yojana has been started. Now the farmers of the state will irrigate their lands during day time from 5 AM to 9 PM. Dahod, Patan, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur, Kheda, Tapi, Valsad, Anand, and Gir-Somnath districts have been covered under the Yojana for 2020-21. The rest will be included in a phased manner by 2022-23.
4000 Rural Areas to be Covered
The Yojana was started by the Prime Minister of the country in the Gujarat state. Under this scheme, electricity will be provided to the farmers for their irrigation purpose in three phases a day so that they can irrigate their lands properly. Now the government has decided to cover all the rural areas in the year 2022. In the upcoming days, 4000 rural areas will be provided with electricity for their irrigation purpose. The government of Gujarat state is planning to install new transmission lines and substations in these areas with an approximate cost of 3500 crore rupees. This Yojana will help the farmers of the state in producing more crops and hence leading to the doubling of income of the farmers of the state
Kisan Suryodaya Yojana IInd Phase
The chief minister of Gujarat state has announced the starting of second phase of the Yojana. 3.80 Lakh electricity connections will be provided to the farmers of the states for their relation of their lands. According to the government, an electricity connection will cost around 1.6 Lakh rupees out of which the farmer has to pay only rupees 10 and rest of the amount will be borne by the government of Gujarat state. 1 lakh farmers of the state were covered in the first phase of the scheme and around 1.90 lakh farmers will be covered in the 2nd phase of the scheme. The state government has planned to cover 4000 villages under this Yojana.
