Jagananna Thodu Scheme
The chance of earning for the poor section of the society has been shrunk due to the adverse impact of the coronavirus lockdown. So in this hard time chief minister of Andhra Pradesh has decided to help the economically weaker section of the state by launching a new scheme called Jagananna Thodu Scheme 2023. The government of Andhra Pradesh has targeted the street vendors of the state to be benefited through this scheme. An amount of rupees 10000 will be provided as a working capital loan to the street vendors so that they can start a new business or grow their old one. This will help in increasing the employment chances in the state and ultimately the betterment of the weaker section of the society.

Jagananna Thodu Scheme Objective
People of daily wage class are suffering huge losses due to this corona pandemic. They are running short of basic necessities. So the scheme has been launched to uplift those sects of the state. The ultimate objective of the scheme is to help the small traders selling on footpaths, street goods, and groceries. Under this scheme, the interest-free loan will be provided to the people that will assist them in starting new employment or resetting their old ones. The scheme aims to provide all possible help to the people so that they can earn their daily necessities.
AP Jagananna Thodu Benefits of Scheme
Among the many benefits of the scheme, one of the main benefits is that the people of the state will be provided a loan of rupees 10,000 so that they can stand tall in society. The interest of the loan will be incurred by the government of the state. The scheme will benefit those who sell the groceries at footpaths, carts on the streets, various items on bicycles, vegetables, fruits, those who make a living by selling as well as those who run Tiffin centers along the road, and those who sell various items on stalls or baskets. The amount of the scheme will be transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary. Beneficiaries can repay the loan in installments. An amount of Rs 474 crores has been sanctioned by the government for this scheme.
Jagananna Thodu Scheme Eligibility
- The applicant must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the scheme.
- The small trader’s age should be 18 years.
- He should be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh state.
- Loans from banks are given to small traders under this scheme.
- Those who have permanent or temporary shops in villages or towns in a space of 5 feet long, 5 feet wide, or less are eligible for the scheme.
- Those doing business on carts on the roadside, on the sidewalks, in public and private places, and those who carry and sell goods on the streets are also eligible.
- The small trader should have a family income of Rs. 10,000 in villages and Rs. 12,000 in towns.
- He must have Aadhaar, Voter Card, or other government-issued identity cards.
- Eligible lists will be placed on the notice boards of the village and ward secretariats and a social audit will be conducted.
- Volunteers will assist those who do not yet have a bank account to open a new savings account.
