The West Bengal Health Scheme is a state-level health welfare step from the Government West Bengal to provide medical assistance for the employees of West Bengal government. In this scheme, eligible people can get cashless treatment in the hospitals which are listed by state Government of Bengal. Eligible person can get cashless treatment of up to Rs 1lakh. Cashless Indoor Treatment
In this cashless Indore treatment beneficiary can get treatment of up to rupees 100000 in an empaneled hospital by State Government. If the treatment would cost more than rupees 100000 then the extra amount of bill will be settled by the beneficiary.
OPD Treatment
- In this OPD treatment, beneficiary can avail reimbursement for the OPD as per the terms and condition of this scheme.
- Treatment in non-empaneled hospital
- If beneficiary got their treatment done in non-empaneled Hospital then certain percentage of amount will be reimbursed by State Government as per the terms and conditions of the Scheme
Out of State Hospitalization
Beneficiary can get the treatment done in other state as well. Government of West Bengal had empaneled various hospitals in different states of India. All the expenses of treatment of beneficiary will be covered if treatment is done in an empaneled hospital.
West Bengal Health Scheme Benefits
- Under the WB Health Scheme more than 1000 medical procedure is covered for 807783 beneficiaries. In this scheme 148 private hospital is empaneled and also 600 treatment is ongoing. Here we are discussing key Benefits of this WBHC.
- According to this scheme beneficiaries can get cashless indoor treatment of up to Rs. 100000/- in empaneled hospital.
- If treatment is done in non-empaneled hospitals 60% (80% where a number of beds is more than 80) of approved Cost or the actual amount or whichever is less will be covered by state government
- Beneficiaries will get reimbursement of indoor treatment of up to one lakh based on a claim to DDO/PSA
- Beneficiaries will also get reimbursement of OPD treatment cost incurred during the period of thirty days for the same cause for which indoor treatment is taken
- Reimbursement for certain specific disease OPD treatment will also be provided
- Beneficiaries will also get reimbursement for certain specified follow-up treatment cost also
- Beneficiaries can get Reimbursement for the cost of treatment in certain Specialty Hospitals outside the West Bengal.

How to Apply for West Bengal Health Scheme
To avail benefit of Scheme one need to enroll and register on WB Health Department website from there you can choose to enroll and register as a government employee or government pensioner.

- First visit the Scheme Official Portal with mobile or laptop.
- Click on Online Enrollment, from the above section and select government employee
- After selecting the government employee option, a new page will appear on the screen
- In this page you need to enter the date of entry into government service and then you will have PRAN/ GPF number.
- If you have PRAN/GPF number check the yes and enter the details
- If you don’t have the detail then check the no box and select non GPF
- Mention detail like residential district, birth date, and save the information to register in West Bengal Health portal.
- Click next for the rest of the process, then mention personal detail like name, address mobile number, employee number etc.

- Upload photograph and digital signature. Please make sure that size of the photograph and signature is of specified size

Govt. Pensioner Enrollment
- First visit the Scheme Official Portal with mobile or laptop.
- Click on Online Enrollment, from the above section and select Govt. Pensioner option.
- After selecting the Govt. Pensioner option, a new page will appear on the screen.
- If you already have a PPO Number then enter the PPO Number or click on the No option and take the PPO Number.
- Now choose your District/State where the Office Located and enter the date of birth.
