WB Bangla Shashya Bima Scheme has been announced by the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Under the WB Bangla Shashya, Bima Scheme State Government will Cover Small, Marginal Farmers. In this scheme, the West Bengal Government will provide free crop Insurance to farmers. First of all BSB Scheme will be implemented in the First Phase and under the first phase total 15 districts will be covered. State Government has recruited Agriculture Insurance Company of India (AIC) as a nodal agency.  Bangla Shashya Bima( insurance scheme) would be free of cost for the farmers and the premium amount will be paid by Government.

Objective of Bangla Shashya Bima Scheme

Mamata Banerjee Government wants to empower the Farmers of the state. This BSB crop insurance scheme will enable farmers to cover up their losses in case their crops get destroyed due to any reason such as drought, Flood, Fire etc.  To fill this motive state government is planning to start West Bengal BSB Insurance Scheme.
