Free Bicycle Scheme 2022
Chief Minister Mr Edappadi K Palaniswami, Government of Tamil Nadu has launched the Tamil Nadu Free Bicycle Scheme 2022 by providing cycles to 9 students at the secretariat as a token gesture. This scheme has been officially launched by CM Jayalalithaa in the academic year 2001-2002, especially for the girl child. Now the scheme is for both girls and boys of reserved category. Under this scheme, the students of government, government-aided and partly aided schools will get free Bicycles in 10 districts of the state – Chennai, Kancheepuram, Chengalpet, Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi. The main objective of the government behind this scheme is to encourage the students to attend the school daily.

Eligibility Conditions of the Scheme
- The Applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu State
- Applicant must be studying in 11th standard
- Applicant must be studying in government, government-aided and partly aided schools
- Students staying in the hostel within the school campus are not eligible
- Students of residential schools are not eligible to grab the benefits of this scheme.
- Applicant must belong to SC/ ST/ BC/ Minority category to apply for this scheme.
Procedure to apply for Tamil Nadu Free Bicycle Scheme
To grab the benefits under this scheme student need to meet their respective headmasters of the school. There is no application procedure to get the benefits of this scheme.
