Maharashtra Smart Project was recently announced by the chief minister of the state. The date of inauguration of Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project is 5th December 2018. This project is the initiative of central government’s “farmer’s double income mission”. The objective of the Maharashtra Smart Project is to improve the Agriculture crop production and incomes of famer’s in rural areas of the entire Maharashtra Smart Project will also support agriculture produce value and this initiative will definitely increase the economy of the Maharashtra state.

Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project which also known as Smart Project for sustainable farming in the rural areas of Maharashtra state. This project will try to improve the agricultural stage of the rural villages who are suffering from the worst conditions of crop production. Under the Maharashtra’s Agri-business and Rural Transformation Program (SMART) Project government will also provide better infrastructures, modern agricultural tools and better income resources. The entire targets of Maharashtra Smart Project will be achieved in the next 3 years.

Maharashtra Smart Project Cost
For implementing the Smart Sustainable farming Project in next 3 years the World Bank are giving Rs 1483. Maharashtra State government will provide Rs 565 Crore and the remained cost of the project is contributed by Village social transforming foundation of state Rs 71 Crore. So the total cost of Maharashtra Smart Project is Rs 2118 crore. This Project will cover approximate 10,000 villages of the state.

About Smart Project
The main objective of Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project is to provide the better opportunities in agriculture sectors of the state. Under this scheme Government of Maharashtra will connect the farmer’s to the direct to market so that they can better prices for their crop production. As well as for increasing the crop productions of the farmer government also provide those modern tools, better infrastructure and fertilizers. The duration of completing project is 3 years.
