Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Free Education Scheme for free Graduation and Post Graduation courses has been introduced by higher education minister Jitu Patwari on 9th June 2019. Under the MP Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Free Education Scheme Female student of Schedule Caste (SC) and Schdule Tribe (ST) will be covered. State Government will implement the Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar SC/ST Women Free Higher Education Scheme from upcoming 2020 academic year. This woman Education Scheme is a pre election promise of Kamal Nath Government.

MP SC/ST Women Free Education Scheme
Under the Madhya Pradesh Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Free Education Scheme 1,250 government and private colleges will be covered in which these women beneficiary will get free Higher education and as well as state government will provide books and stationery up to Rs 2,000. Under the Scheme all graduation and Post graduation courses will be covered but the final list of all covered courses will be released by Education department of Madhya Pradesh at time of releasing guidelines for the SC/ST Women Free Education Scheme.
Objective Ahilya Bai Holkar Free Education Scheme
Due to the poor financial conditions and lack of awareness about education of women these community have a much lower level of educated women. State government wants to improve the education level among these Schedule Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST) community. For fulfilling this target MP Government is no going to start 100 percent government funded Free Education Scheme in the state.
