About Karnataka Skill Connect Portal
The government of Karnataka Launch Karnataka Skill Connect Portal on 15 July 2022. During the launch event of this portal the Minister for Higher Education and Skill Development of Karnataka Mr. CN Aswath Narayan said that Karnataka Skill Connect Portal will bring both job aspirants and employers onto a single platform. According to the Minister online digital learning courses will be introduced in universities. Accordingly, every university will have to have at least a degree course in the online format before March 2023. And English learning labs would be set up and arrangements will made to teach the Japanese language. In this portal candidate can apply for different courses which can help them to increase their skill for the job.
This portal is providing different courses for the candidates who want to enhance their skill. Karnataka Skill Connect Portal is also helpful for the companies to find the right skilled person for their company. This portal would help in filing the shortage of human resources required in industries. For this portal government collaborated with different institute for providing skill to the student so there will be no mismatched between the skilled acquired by the student and industry demand.

Objectives of Karnataka Skill Connect Portal
The main Objective of Karnataka Skill Connect Portal is to remove mismatched between the skilled acquired by the student and industry demand. And this portal will also bring both employers and job aspirant together and fill the gap between the demand and supply of industries in term of job. In this portal technology is used to bring transformation in the economic growth of Karnataka.
Aim of Skill Connect Portal
- The portal aim is to support around 65 thousand engineering students in obtaining internships opportunities.
- The long-term goal is to encourage educational institutions and companies to use the portal for job and placement support.
Features of Karnataka Skill Connect Portal
- Online digital learning courses will be introduced in universities. Accordingly, every university will have to have at least a degree course in the online format before March 2023.
- Five Mous were signed with different companies with an objective to generate employment.
- English learning labs would be set up and arrangements made to teach the Japanese language.
- Agreements were signed between the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Infosys, the Government Tool Room and Training Center (GTTC) and Toyota kaushalkar the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and the ITIs and Ubuntu.
- More than 20,000 candidates will be connected with companies through massive job fairs under the “Sarvarigoo Udyoga (Jobs for All)” program, while the “Skill Connect Portal” attempts to connect job seekers with employers in virtual job fairs.
- Students are receiving the necessary and in-demand skill training through these programes, preparing them for their futures and the advancement of the state.
- Regarding future skills, as part of the talent acceleration program, final year BE/BCA students received future skill training from the information technology and biotechnology departments, solid waste management and driving training from the panchayat raj department, and self-employment and self-reliance training from the police department for prisoners.
- Skill training is offered by SIDAC, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Higher Education, the Department of Health and Family Welfare, and the Department of Primary and Secondary Education.
- The learning management system (LMS) has placed a strong emphasis on creating future capabilities in conjunction with organisations, including artificial intelligence, robots, data analytics, and the Internet of Things.
- 150 ITIs have been transformed to technology hubs and the Karnataka government is upgrading a total of 150 ITI colleges in the state at a cost of about Rs 4500 crore. 23 future skill development courses in areas like robotics, IoT, and artificial intelligence have been established here.
