PRASAD Scheme has launched under the Ministry of Tourism in the year of 2015 with initially 12 cities in 12 states. Today on Dated 04-December-2018 the list of the Pilgrimage religious cities has become 41 cities in total 25 states of the country. Recently union government has included the 4 cities in PRASAD Scheme list which are as follows Gangotri and Yamunotri in Uttrarakhand, and Parasnath in Jharkhand and Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh. Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive is the Name of PRASAD Scheme.

About PRASAD Scheme
Under the PRASAD Scheme the Ministry of Tourism serve the financial support to those states which comes under the PRASAD Scheme’s selected list. This financial is provided to the States & union territory for improving the infrastructure, development and for beautification of the identified pilgrimage destination. The central government wants to develop from initial point to last mile stone of the city. For implementing this idea government of India allocated every year a financial assistance for these Pilgrimage religious cities.
