What are Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises?

Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) is a central govt. regulated body & it established under the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006.  MSME is classified in two classes i.e., Manufacturing Enterprises & Service Enterprises. Under the MSME govt. has classified Enterprises into three categories according to Investment.  Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises MSME Schemes serves a number of opportunities to establish our business.

MSME Manufacturing Enterprises– these enterprises are engaged with manufacture or production of goods & this work according to Development and regulation Act, 1951. The limit for investment in plant and machinery/equipment for manufacturing are as follows

Micro Enterprises Does not exceed twenty five lakh rupees
Small Enterprises More than twenty-five lakh rupees but does not exceed five crore rupees
Medium Enterprises More than five crore rupees but does not exceed ten crore rupees

MSME Service Enterprises– these enterprises engaged in providing or rendering of services.  The limit for investment in the plant of service enterprises are as follows
