Procedure to Aadhaar Card Address Update

To update your address you have to follow the steps as mentioned further:

  • First of all, go to the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India
  • From the home page of the website you have to go to the “My Aadhar” option
  • The dropdown list will appear select “update your address online” option given under “update your Aadhaar”

Update online

  • From the opened page click “proceed to update address
  • Now you have to enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code appears on the screen
  • Click send OTP option and you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number
  • Enter the OTP and click “verify” option
  • Now edit the address and upload the supporting document
  • Submit your request by click “submit” option

Update Address via validation letter:

  • If you don’t have address proof then click “Request for Address Validation Letter
  • Enter your Aadhar number and captcha code appears on the screen
  • Click send OTP option and enter the OTP you received
  • Enter the updated address and submit it
  • You will receive an SRN number along with link via SMS
  • Click on the link and give your consent
  • Log in with your SRN number
  • Review the address you edited and submit the request
  • You will receive a validation letter with secret code on the same address via post
  • Now login to Online Address Update Portal and enter that secret code to complete the request
  • Submit it and you will receive UNR number on your registered mobile number.

Procedure to check the status of address update

  • To check the status you have to visit first the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India
  • From the home page of the website you have to go to the “My Aadhar” option
  • A dropdown list will appear to select “check online address update status” option given under “update your Aadhaar”
  • Enter your Aadhaar number, URN/ SRN and verification code shows on the screen
  • Click check status and your updation status will appear on the screen
