About Assam Orunodoi Scheme

The Assam Orunodoi Scheme was introduced by the Assam government on December 1st, 2020. 17 lakh Assamese families will receive financial aid under the Orunodoi Scheme. Beneficiaries of the Orunodoi Scheme in Assam would receive Rs. 830 a month to spend on necessities like sugar, pulses, and other foods. The following amounts will be provided: Rs. 400 to buy medications, Rs. 200 to buy 4 kilograms of pulses, Rs. 80 to buy sugar, and Rs. 150 to buy fruit. The participants of this scheme will get the funds by direct benefit transfer immediately into their bank accounts. The Assam state government would yearly spend Rs 2400 crore under the Arunodoi Scheme. The major reason for creating this program is to help folks who need money to buy necessities like food and medicine. This program will make it easier for Assamese low-income families to live normal lives.

  • The state government has approved over Rs. 2800 crores for this program.
  • Each eligible household would receive monthly financial support of Rs. 830 via direct bank transfer (DBT).
  • Only homes that qualify may submit applications.
  • At the block and district levels, potential beneficiaries will be examined.
  • Since she is the primary carer for the residence, the money will ideally be sent through DBT in her name.

Eligible Candidates for Assam Orunodoi Scheme Subsidy

According to an official declaration by the government, the following people will receive priority under the Assan Orunodoi scheme:-

  • Unmarried Women
  • Households with a divorcee
  • Households with widows
  • The preference will be given to low-income families without ration cards for free rice.
  • Families with a member who is disabled
  • The advantages are available to families who belong to self-help groups and have tractors and two- or three-wheelers.
  • Those having NFSS (National Food Security Scheme) cards are low-income families.

Beneficiaries Ineligible for Assam Orunodoi Scheme Subsidy

The following people won’t be permitted to participate in the program:-

  • A family will not be eligible to receive the benefits of the scheme if any family members are employed by the government or PSUs.
  • Families with tractors, 15 Bighas of land, a four-wheeler, a refrigerator, or an annual income of more than Rs. 2 lakhs are ineligible for the Orunodoi program.
  • Families having an AC or a washing machine are not eligible for the scheme
  • Former and current members of the legislative or parliamentary
  • Family is not eligible for the scheme if there are no women living
